Romney on spending: Guns trump butter

• http://online.wsj.com, Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Reducing government deficits Mitt Romney's way would mean less money for health care for the poor and disabled and big cuts to nuts-and-bolts functions such as food inspection, border security and education.

Romney also promises budget increases for the Pentagon, above those sought by some GOP defense hawks, meaning that the rest of the government would have to shrink even more. Nonmilitary programs would incur still larger cuts than those called for in the tightfisted GOP budget that the House passed last month.

Differences over the government's budget and spiraling deficits are among the starkest that separate Republican Romney and Democratic President Barack Obama.

John 8:34 (NIV):
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin."

So, country and world full of slaves.

But Saint Paul explain, Galatians 5:1 (NIV):
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Many believe in Christ. So, many slave now free.

If you believe you are a slave in chain who does not even know what liberty means, then what is your business of talking about liberty?

On the other hand, if you are not a slave in chain who does not know what liberty means, then you must be a free man who knows what liberty means. But Brag is right ...that is useless if terrorists cut off your head. Thus security first for you to stay alive and talk about liberty that you understand -- that's because you are not a slave who could not understand what liberty means.

There are no slaves in this country -- the slaves you mentioned do not exist. They are but a figment of your imagination. The real truth, not just the truth in your imagination.  If you go around telling people that they are slaves in chain, they will either just laugh at you or call the abulance and haul you quickly to the mental asylum. I speak this truth without any intention of harming anyone.

It's practically impossible for anyone who wants to give up liberty for security to do so. Why? At least 2 reasons:

1. He doesn't know what liberty is. Likewise, he doesn't know what security is.

2. He is, already, a slave in chains, and doesn't even know it. And he probably won't realize it until his bondage drags him down to the brink of the grave... and maybe not even then.

Outside of a few author-type libertarians, you won't find any libertarians posting in libertarian forums. They don't have time for that kind of nonsense. They're to busy out having fun exercising their liberty.

We give up liberty for security ... why not? What other choice do you have when terrorists are all around you ready to cut your head off? When terrorists cut off your head, slash your throat or blow you up to kingdom come -- what liberty is there to talk about? In short, what in hell are you talking about?  It is security that gives you the liberty and freedom to live. The dead doesn't have it, not anymore when your head is cut off or no longer with you. How can a donkey fail to understand this is boggles the imagination!

Strange that writers and too many people seem to forget that our government was meant to be limited in power and scope. Yet we give up liberty for security. The military and postal roads are within those few powers...... I fail to see were spending any tax dollars on anything else has really help the people. To pay for all the extra functions our government now does it seems to do it via inflation of the dollar. Now the taxpayers work more for less. The government takes 100 and generously gives back half.....for our own good of course.
