Massive commercial vehicle search taking place this week on I-40

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - If you're driving up to the high country this week, expect more police along Interstate 40. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is conducting road checks between Tuesday and Thursday on commercial vehicles. It's an international effort called Roadcheck 2012 which aims to promote safety and security on North American highways. During the checks, DPS will inspect vehicles and drivers near Flagstaff all the way west to California. Officers will emphasize the need to prevent driver fatigue and enforce brake safety regulations. Brake system violations factor into many commercial bus and truck accidents.
