Insane: Real-life Hot Wheels cars go through double dare loop

• Muriel Kane via The Raw Story.com

This years X Games, which are being held in Los Angeles this weekend, added to their usual extreme events by constructing a real-life, 66 foot tall version of the Hot Wheels Double Dare Snare and sending a rally car driver and a Hollywood stuntman hurtling through it.

The two drivers, Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy, spun through the loop at 52 miles an hour, a speed which subjected them to seven times the normal force of gravity at the earth’s surface. According to Geekosystem, people have been known to black out at only 4 G’s.

Foust and Tracy now hold a world record for the stunt, having surpassed Chinese driver Li Yatao, who previously held the record for a mere 42 foot loop.
