Officer’s Lawsuit Over Quotas Is Reinstated

A federal appeals court on Wednesday reinstated a lawsuit filed by a New York City police officer who accused his superiors of violating his First Amendment rights by punishing him for reporting the existence of an illegal arrest-quota system.

If cops don't have a quota, you neither get the revenue that false arrests bring, nor do you get cops out of the coffee and donut shops, onto the streets where they might do some good. The fact that Matthews is complaining shows us that there just might be a little good among cops after all.
