Although NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden remains both in exile and in limbo, his disclosures regarding the National Security Agency’s pervasive surveillance program may lead to significant changes on Capitol Hill. Republican Congressman Justin Amash of Michigan has proposed an amendment to the 2014 Defense Authorization Bill that would end the NSA’s mass collection of telephone records.
