Vicco, Kentucky to Pay Police Chief in Bitcoin

Last month Police Chief Tony Vaughn requested that the city commission allow his salary to be paid in Bitcoin. The City Commission and Mayor Johnny Cummings spent time researching the currency before deciding that Chief Vaughn would receive his take home pay, after federal and state taxes, in Bitcoin. Bitcoin recently rose in value to over 1000 U.S. dollars.
