• Next News Network
Liz Wahl, a news anchor on the television network Russia Today, quit her job on air. While doing so, the journalist cited disagreements on editorial policy with the station. Russia Today is funded by the Kremlin. Wahl told viewers she could no longer work for a network that "whitewashes" the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. She was referring to coverage Russia Today has provided surrounding events of the invasion of the Crimea by Moscow. Wahl said, "I cannot be part of a network funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the actions of Putin. I'm proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth, and that is why, after this newscast, I'm resigning."
