The robot pole-dancer project has been going on for a few years now,
but this year's models feature more color-changing lights and
"enhanced" chests. Also new is an app that allows the dancer-bots'
controllers to change each dancer's positions and what colors of light
it gives off.
Originally designed by British artist Giles Walker,
the robots can actually be rented by anyone willing to pony up $40,000
per event. Maybe the absence of real women debasing
themselves will provide a sort of upstanding allure for some, but we
can't help but think that app-controlled, customizable robots could
probably find something more productive to do with their time. At the
very least, we can think of better ways to drop 40k.
