Three Secret Service agents have been sent home from Amsterdam after a night of heavy drinking.
The agents were preparing for a visit by Obama to the Netherlands. According to the Washington Post, one of the service members was found passed out in a hotel hallway.
After the incident, the three agents were sent home to the United States. Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary would not say when the infraction took place, or if the officers were placed on administrative leave.
A source close to the story told the press the night of drinking happened before Monday morning, when Obama arrived in Amsterdam. Reports from Belgium say agents were drinking Saturday night, and the unconscious agent was discovered by hotel security on following morning.
This is the latest in a string of embarrassing incidents for the group charged with protecting the president.
