Senate report shows CIA lying about torture

Did the CIA purposely mislead the American public about torture of prisoners by U.S. forces? A new Senate report shows that is exactly what happened. According to the Washington Post, the American military and the CIA spent years torturing detainees and lying to the public about the programs. In 2013, the intelligence committee prepared a report on highly-classified "black sites." This organization oversees the Central Intelligence Agency. Current and former officials of the federal government say military interrogators regularly tortured prisoners. This treatment often continued even after they were certain no more information could be obtained from the suspect.
