Why are some of the world's largest corporations investing in advanced robotic technologies? Is this a natural drive toward a technological future, or is there more to the movement? Artificial intelligence recently received a major boost from a trio of mega-investors, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Joining him on a $40 investment are Elton Musk of Tesla Motors and actor Ashton Kuthcher. The goal of their project is to build an artificial brain that can see, understand language and do math.
The Xprize Foundation announced their latest annual prize. The winning entrant must build a robot capable of giving a speech at the annual TED conference, bringing the audience to a standing ovation. Details are yet to be announced.
