U.S. drone strike in Yemen kills New Zealander and Australian

• Indian Defence
The controversial deadly drone strikes by the Obama administration are likely to come under more intense attack than ever now with reports of foreign citizens killed by a drone attack in Yemen. A U.S. drone strike has killed a New Zealander and Australian in Yemen reported Al Jazeera on April 16, 2014. It has been confirmed that a citizen from each country has been killed in U.S. strikes in Yemen.

U.S. drone strikes directed against suspected terrorists have been blasted by human rights groups because they don't allow for a trial and can result in killing innocent bystanders. Yet, a U.S. federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the Obama administration officials for the 2011 drone strike killings of three U.S. citizens in Yemen which included an Al-Qaeda cleric.

International Business Times has reported a U.S. drone has killed Aussie foot soldiers in Yemen. Back in 2013 two Australian foot soldiers were reportedly killed by a U.S. drone strike which took place in Yemen.
These Aussie soldiers are said to have been killed during a counter-terrorism operation and there have been few official comments on the incident.
