Why? Because this movie looks out-of-this-world amazing. The new trailer for the film, which will be showing before Godzilla screenings this weekend, finally throws open the doors on what, exactly, Nolans new film is about. The gist: A global food crisis has left Earth in a dire situation, and Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a pilot and engineer who turned to farming to feed his family, has been called on to go on an expedition to find a new place for humanity to live. Or, as Michael Caines character tells him: "Were not meant to save the world, were meant to leave it."
From the gritty desolation of the life envisioned on this near-future Earth to the majestic grandeur shown in the few fleeting space-exploration shots here, it looks like Nolan is putting together an epic space-exploration film. Welcome back, Christopher. We were missing you already.
