According to Carina Vance, Minister of Public Health of Ecuador, one of the objectives of the meeting is the implementation of joint programs.

For two days, specialists and technicians from both countries will participate in workshops in which they will discuss the possibilities for cooperation in areas such as diabetes treatment, medications, vaccines, cancer fighting, among others.

According to Vance, it is one more step to revitalize the health care system in Ecuador, with objectives like change the curative approach for the precautionary approach and health promotion.
