CIA Torture Report Close to Release

• http://thelibertybeat.com, by Derrick Broze

The summary of a report on CIA torture methods may finally be released this week after months of delays. According to a report by VICE News, the report will state that interrogators could have obtained intelligence details regarding terror plots without the use of torture, also known as "enhanced interrogation techniques" (EITs). The public will see less than ten percent of the 6,000 page, $40 million report when it is finally declassified. VICE reports that the summary does not draw any conclusions as to why the CIA decided to pursue torture techniques after 9/11. The report also apparently fails to make any recommendations for the CIA.
