The White House has criticized the anti-Iran deal protest that Republican presidential candidate hopefuls Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are planning to hold at the United States Capitol.

"Sen. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump have said that they're going to host a big pro-war rally on the steps of the United States Capitol," spokesperson Josh Earnest said on Friday. 

The two conservatives presidential hopefuls joined efforts and announced that on September 9, they will be protesting in a public event on the west lawn of Capitol Hill. 

The event is organized and fully supported by far-right organizations the Tea Party Patriots, the Center for Security Policy, and the Zionist Organization of America.

This is not the first time Republicans have organized such events. Cruz staged a rally outside the Capitol in July against the Iran agreement with the P5+1 group, an action the White House labeled a "pro-war rally."
