Stem cell treatment of Parkinson's disease via half inch holes in the skull

About 5 million iPS cell-derived dopaminergic progenitors will be transplanted by stereotaxic brain surgery into the left and right sides of the patient's putamen.

A 12mm diameter hole will be drilled on the patient's skull, and stem cells will be injected using a specialized device.

Patient aged between 50 and 69 will participate in the trial and their progress will be monitored for two years.
