Investors urge Mark Zuckerberg to break up his tech 'dictatorship'

• https://www.dailymail.co.uk By Jennifer Smith

Zuckerberg cut off Instagram's resources when it started surpassing Facebook's success, employees have claimed

He was angry and had staff put together lists of all the ways Facebook supported the picture-drive platform

He crippled its budget to make this happen, it is claimed, and made life 'miserable' enough for its founders to leave

His relationship with WhatsApp is no better, staff say, and the tensions are clear in Facebook's Menlo Park HQ

Facebook bought Instagram in 2012 for $1billion and WhatsApp in 2014 for $19billion

The founders of both companies worked beneath Zuckerberg for several years before quitting in 2017 and 2018

The claims emerged in a lengthy piece by Wired based on Facebook staff interviews

They also described a town-hall meeting held last year about a Facebook executive's appearance at Brett Kavanaugh's SCOTUS hearing
