Scott McMillan, 56, received 9 death threats in the first 48 hours after his tweet

He maintains that the elderly should shelter in place but others should be allowed to return to work

The lawyer said the economy cannot fail to save the 'not productive' 2.5% of the population from the coronavirus 

His parents in their 70s agree with him but he wants them to stay at home

He was replying to a tweet from President Trump that claimed he would open up social distancing restrictions after 15 days  

McMillan has since deleted his tweet as the abuse continued
