REVEALED: Times Square 'jihadi', 19, was on an FBI 'watchlist' after being radicaliz

Trevor Bickford, 19, of Wells, Maine is accused of slashing two NYPD cops

It happened around 10pm near Times Square on New Year's Eve

Two officers, including a rookie NYPD cop, were injured in the attack

Another officer reportedly shot Bickford in the shoulder and rushed to hospital

Detectives are investigating if the suspect is a radicalized Islamist

The incident indicates that the 2022 Big Apple crime wave will continue in 2023

The alleged Islamic extremist who stabbed a rookie NYPD cop with a machete near Times Square on New Year's Eve was on an FBI 'watchlist' after being radicalized and vowing to fight in Afghanistan.

Trevor Bickford, 19, from Wells, Maine, does not have criminal record according to a preliminary investigation, but police sources say the Bureau in Boston have an open case on him.

Bickford is on a 'guardian list' because of his radicalization, and The New York Post reports he made statements to his aunt about a desire to go fight in the Middle East, which prompted her to tell the authorities.
