Their skin clears up, inflammation goes way down. They're eating bread, pasta, cheese, meat, and dessert without and still losing weight. Then they come back to the U.S., eat the same basic foods, and everything feels like crap again.
Americans are sicker, heavier, more inflamed, more medicated, and more confused than ever about what they're supposed to eat. Meanwhile, the official advice always seems to blame the person, never the system producing the sugary, salty, processed food. But it's more than just that. What about our "healthy" food… is that also on a massive downturn?
Maybe, because now a claim about oranges is making the rounds. The viral clips claims that Americans today may need to eat eight oranges to get the same nutrition one orange gave our grandparents. That sounds wild, yes, but it's fair to wonder if today's farming has made our food look really abundant while stripping away much of the stuff that made it nourishing in the first place.
Yes, the "eight oranges" line is the hook that makes your eyebrows go up… but should we be worried about soil depletion, modern agricultural methods, splicing and dicing seeds, and and the really disturbing decline of nutrient density in the foods Americans are told to eat more of every day. Who wants to sit down and eat eight oranges? It's absurd.

Modern intensive farming using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, tillage depletes soil organic matter and disrupts the soil microbiome (fungi, bacteria)
These microbes are crucial: they solubilize minerals, fix nitrogen, form symbiotic relationships and help plants uptake nutrients and synthesize compounds.
