Several news agencies and media outlets report that a Israeli-developed computer virus has threatened to destroy the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. The Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom claims the statements are false, but the so-called rumors coincide with the upcoming power launch of the station.
Yesterday, Rosatom claimed the computer systems of the Bushehr nuclear power plant were free of viruses when a spokesman stated, “There are no viruses in the station’s information systems, this computer system is a local one and it is fully isolated from external sources.”
The comment appeared soon after a British newspaper claimed it possessed an intelligence report suggesting that Bushehr could turn into another Chernobyl. The report also referred to a mysterious Israeli computer virus called Stuxnet.
