The public/private sector compensation debate hits close to home in New York

Syosset School Superintendent salary and benefits package once again under the microscope! In the current economic climate where federal, state, city and local governmental budgets are being stretched to the breaking point (if not already broken), pay packages of unionized public-sector employees have sbegun to be scrutinized in ways seldom seen before. The term pay package covers total compensation including salary, pension and healthcare benefits. The scrutiny has also examined the comparison of public employee compensation versus those of their private sector counterparts doing similar jobs (who among us in the private sector has a pension?)...
