Lame Chilean Left Opposes Dam Project

Many people have been wondering what all the fuss is about over the dam project in southern Chile known as HidroAysén.

The project consists of several dams to be built on the Baker River, Chile’s largest, located in Chile’s 11th Region (over 1,000 miles south of Santiago). It was approved earlier this month, and since then there have been thousands of people up-in-arms against it, even resorting to limited violence.
