The mission of “Rights for Homebirth” is to bring awareness of the inequities and limitations in the rules and regulations that govern Arizona Licensed Midwives.
It is our goal to have everyone in the State of Arizona stand up and demand the State of Arizona and specifically the Arizona Department of Health Services to open the rules and regulations for updates, allowing Licensed Midwives to meet the current standards of care and allow families the choice of working with a Licensed Midwife under informed consent when seeking a VBAC at home or in a birth center.
We bring awareness of the inequities and limitations in the rules and regulations that govern Arizona Licensed Midwives and demand CHANGE!
The time has come for all to stand up and be heard on the issues facing all birthing women now and in the future in the state of Arizona. The current Rules and Regulations governing out of hospital birth with licensed midwives in the State of Arizona are antiquated and severely limit the type of care that can be provided. We need everyone to stand up for this cause as it affects the future of all our children. You, your daughter, your daughter in law, your granddaughter, your sisters and sister in law all are and will be affected by the lack of choice currently available in the State of Arizona.

The Arizona Dept of Health currently is not allowing women their right to choose the setting and professional of their choice for birth if the woman has experienced a VBAC in the past. We are petitioning AZDHS to change this decision and allow women full freedom of choice. We are collecting names from this online petition to add to a separate written petition that we will be submitting to the Arizona Dept of Health.
