C-Span, Romney skip Saturday GOP Debate

The next Republican debate, the Family Leader Thanksgiving Family Forum on November 19, will only be streamed online, since C-Span pulled their coverage plans last Thursday, according to the Family Leader.

“They said it was budgetary reasons,” Julie Summa, the Leader’s director of marketing and outreach, said. “We are bringing in a satellite truck, and anybody can live-stream.” (Citizen Link, an event sponsor, will host the stream on its website.)

Romney, who returns to Iowa on November 23, is also sitting out the debate, as is Huntsman.

But forum moderator Frank Luntz, “America’s Favorite Pollster,” says the debate has great potential:

“I promise this won’t be like anything you’ve ever seen,” he writes on the forum’s online invitation. “No gotcha questions by the panel. No spin by the politicians. Just an authentic discussion among the people who seek to lead this great nation. It has the potential to be the most important forum of the primary presidential campaign.”

The forum runs from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday. Full details here.
