Jason Collins, a Homosexual Hero but Christian Tim Tebow a Zero!

By Don Boys, Ph.D.

America is all fouled up! We don’t know the difference between right and wrong, up and down, black and white, good and bad, or normal and abnormal. The Hebrew prophet Amos commanded us to “Hate the evil and love the good.” However, most people relegate Amos to the ash heap and suggest that what is evil for one person may be good for another. Afraid not. While there can be some honest disagreement about some things, when God speaks about an issue, that settles it. God has spoken clearly about perversion. And that settles it!

Recently, Jason Collins, an over-the hill professional basketball player grabbed a few more minutes of his vanishing fame by announcing to the world: “I’m black. And I’m gay.” As if anyone really cared. Evidently President Obama cared enough to call to congratulate him for his courage as did Bill Clinton. And Michelle yelled, “We have your back.” Really!

Burt Prelutsky, a columnist and west coast talk show host, wrote of Obama’s call to Jason, “I assumed it was to invite him to the White House for a little one-on-one. And maybe even some basketball.” Wow! Few readers got the meaning of that quip.

The President’s dummy, Jay Carney said Jason was “courageous.” Hold on! How can it be courageous to do something that results in a call from the President? And Collins got his photo on the cover of major magazines and he will headline a Democrat fundraiser this month along with Michelle. His announcement did not require courage but choice and calculation and it paid off.

However, another black sports figure, Chris Broussard, announcer for ESPN, expressed a different opinion for which he was symbolically drawn and quartered by the “tolerant” left. Chris said, "I'm a Christian. I don't agree with homosexuality. I think it's a sin, as I think all sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman is. If you're openly living in unrepentant sin ... that's walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ." All informed and honest Christians will agree with his incredibly courageous statement; however, those on the left who make decisions by their “feelings” are frothing at the mouth for Chris’ courage, commitment, and convictions. He has been reprimanded by the channel. No doubt he is on his way out. However, I think he is on his way up!

When Jason declared “I’m black. And I’m gay,” he implied that he had no choice in either; however, he chose to be homosexual. He has been called “a hero” but that might be a little hyperbolic. It used to be that a hero was someone who risked his life dragging a fellow soldier out of danger at the risk of life. Not only is the world changing, it seems words are also changing. Jason had a girlfriend for eight years then sent her to the showers or wherever dumped girlfriends are sent. Now, since he had a girlfriend, does that not prove that he is not an exclusive homosexual? Maybe there is a choice involved here.

Jason has an identical twin who is straight as an arrow, happily married and father of three. Jason and his brother have identical DNA, so, if one is “gay” both are gay! If one is straight, then both are straight. The fact is homosexuals don’t exist! But there are heterosexuals who choose a life of perversion and rebellion against God. Let me make it clear: homosexuals, as a group, do not exist but homosexuality does exist as it is a choice made by weak, warped, willful, and wicked people.

Jason will turn his “courage” into cash as he endorses the merchandise of fools. And many principled Christians will purchase the peddled goods, yawn, watch television, and cluck their tongues as they mumble about the nation going to hell in a hand basket.

Growing Up Straight, a book recommended by the National Institute of Mental Health, reveals, “Scientific consensus holds that homosexuality is very largely conditioned by the environment and childhood and most particularly by parental influence in the home.” No gay gene so no excuse.

Bearrman and Bruckner in the American Journal of Sociology concluded, “[O]ur results support the hypothesis that less gendered socialization in early childhood and preadolescence shapes subsequent same-sex romantic preferences.” The Yale/Columbia professors are saying that DNA does not determine same sex preferences. It is life experience that shapes sexual preferences.

ScienceDaily puts it even more bluntly, “[N]o major gene for homosexuality has been found despite numerous studies searching for a genetic connection.” No one is “born gay.” And we have Jason Collins to thank for proving that to all of us. No person is born homosexual but any person can choose to be.

Further proof of our unfair, unkind, and unreasonable society is the way Tim Tebow has been treated compared to abortionists, homosexuals and other assorted freaks, frauds, fools, and fakers. Tim is told that he should be silent about being a follower of Christ; however, homosexuals are praised and promoted while normal people are panned and persecuted! Recently released quarterback Tim Tebow is now the most influential athlete in sports in 2013, according to Forbes. But don’t talk about it; after all, he’s a Christian, you know.

Whenever some jerk comes out of the closet, everyone speaks of “celebrating diversity” and promoting toleration; however, no one celebrates me for being a white, pro-gun, conservative, creationist, straight Christian. What am I? Chopped liver? Why doesn’t Obama call me and praise me for taking such a courageous position? Are we to be tolerant of leftist loonies but critical of those who lean toward right? The fact that ESPN apologized for its announcer is positive proof that the main stream media are master hypocrites when they speak of diversity, fairness, and equality. They are very supportive of perverts and critical of Christians!

Because of sequestration, Obama can call me collect to congratulate me anytime.

God didn't make anyone gay. Adam and Eve were perfect. They listened to the devil inside the serpent and corrupted themselves. We inherit genetically corrupted genes.

For His own purposes, God, in the form of Jesus, took the punishment of man's impending destruction. He did it for everyone, when He did it on the cross and beyond. He suffered in a few short hours on the cross the excruciating pain of the death of all the immortal souls ever created, something that is beyond understanding as to the torment, and as to how it could even be.

But God will not always look away in the face of sin. He will not always allow His glory to remain in corruption. Even as God raised Jesus back to life in the resurrection, there will come a time when He pulls Himself away from all evil and wickedness.

Where do you want to be when God does that? Are you going to continue to nullify the gift of forgiveness that God offers by NOT turning from your corrupt ways? Are you going to formally become an enemy of God by willingly and aggressively remaining in evil? Are you always going to attempt to nullify the love God has for you by pushing righteousness away from yourself?

God might be able to exist without life or eternity or infinity. But you and I can't do that. We need God. Stop defying Him, even though it is painful for a while in this short life. If you don't stop, you are driving God away, and yourself towards destruction.

I've always been a Tebow fan, he's got that winner aura that makes a team think it's going to win and the other team think it's going to lose. But his ostentatious public prayer is SICK.

First, his own Jesus forbade it (Matt. 6:5). In ancient Rome it was only the pagans who engaged in public prayers, including at gladiator contests, come to think of it Tebow looks like a Roman soldier.

Second, let's assume he scores a victory and gets away with it without the NFL outlawing it. Then he's opening the door for MUSLIMS to start their ass-lifting prayers on the field too, complete with the loud muezzin prayer-caller shouting Allahu Akbar. I might have to give up watching football :)  I hope the owners outlaw public prayers on field and flush the issue, after which I hope Tebow becomes QB for an AFC West team so that he can play the Denver Broncos twice a year for an endless grudge match :)

If Pastor Dixon talks about a person in a negative way, or if you do, or if I do, especially a more-or-less celebrity, and from a distance, what does that hurt the person? Jason isn't going to roll up and die because Pastor Dixon pointed out some things about him in a negative light.

The important thing is what God thinks about Jason. The only place we get clear knowledge about what God thinks of a subject is from the Bible. And Pastor Dixon has more knowledge of the Bible, probably, than any of us.

The point is that what Pastor Dixon is saying should be a warning for ALL of us. Because he is expressing what God thinks on the subject of homosexuality. The odds are that none of us will have to answer to Pastor Dixon. But all of us, including Pastor Dixon, will have to answer to God at the last day.

The reason why Jason SHOULD be censored is that his actions - remember, he is in a position of being a hero in the eyes of many fans - are leading others into the same kinds of actions and life-style as Jason has. If Jason can do it, why shouldn't I? So Jason is helping to push many people towards a bad judgment by God.

Not only that, but God often acts toward a whole nation, in this life, according to what the consensus of their actions is. We have enough trouble in this nation, already. Jason, by being a popular figure, and acting against what God wants and says, is bring more trouble on the whole nation. If he were some guy who lived this kind of life-style in a back alley, and didn't flaunt it, the problem would be only his. But since is flaunting it, his problem before God becomes much greater, and is helping to bring a whole nation down.

Thank you, Pastor Dixon, for using serious language to warn Jason and others of their potential damnation from God that will come on them if they do not change. Thank you, Pastor Dixon, for reminding us with direct, harsh words that if we do not clean up our act as a nation, we just may be doomed as a nation, right now, in the very near future. Please, Pastor Dixon, continue to so warn us, so that we can see from their comments who the enemies God and of the United States of America really are. Thank you, Pastor Dixon.

I do not recall ever seeing a passage in the new testament that put a positive value on hate or revenge.   Yet every single screed from that I have read from Pastor Dixon is about those subjects.  It is like Pastor Dixon is a disciple of the anti-christ.  Well, that would work, since most self proclaimed noisy christians preach and act in ways that are directly contrary to the teachings of Jesus.

My question is why does freedoms phoenix keep posting this crap?

Did you really quip that the man's ex girl was disposed of 'into the showers'? Your sub headline was correct: you don't know the difference between right and wrong, up and down, black and white, good and bad, or normal and abnormal. Let the internet record hold that Greg J Dixon is a genocide-baiting, gay bashing troll. Hope you die in a fire.
