CONNECTING THE DOTS

Part 14: What America will look like in 2050—we don’t get it

Part 14: We don’t “get” it

Since we live in a constitutional republic, the key to our future lies with each citizen.  We hire and fire our leaders.  We choose our course in war and peace.  We discover our way through our choices.  We make our nation or break our nation by our voices.  We earn the future or we lose it depending on our actions.

Unfortunately, as you read this series on importing 100 million more legal immigrants into this country within the next 37 years, few if any Americans “get it” as to the final outcome.  They cannot imagine what 100 million more people injected into this country means to our water, energy, food and resources.  They may watch dozens of examples of environmental breakdown, but not connect the dots.

I used the example of our doubling the 20 most populated cities in America, but few Americans can comprehend what adding 20 of our most populated cities will do to our water, air and land.  Furthermore, they don’t care.

If you look at the most prestigious media leaders such as Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Diane Sawyer, Scott Pelley, Wolf Blitzer, Shepard Smith, David Gregory, George Will, Kathleen Parker and Bob Sheiffer—you won’t hear a peep out of them as to our population predicament.  In fact, they refuse to interview any of our top scientists and leaders as to our growing water, energy and resource dilemma.

Our 100 senators passed the S744 amnesty bill this year and doubled legal immigration to 2.0 million annually.  Not a single one of them understood the ramifications of speeding up the invasion of our country.  Even the ones who voted against the bill, didn’t raise a voice about the addition of 100 million legal immigrants and the consequences.

In February of this year, I spent 45 minutes in the office of U.S. Senator Bennet of Colorado. I showed his staff “point blank” scientific evidence of the ramifications of adding the projected 100 million.  The aides consisted of a black, Hispanic and white woman.  I asked them to reduce all immigration to less than 100,000 annually in order to stabilize our country in order to move into the 21st century as a viable, functioning civilization.  I showed them graphs and left them with a resource outline to make sure they “got it”.

In April, Bennet, one of the “Gang of Eight’ promoted and passed the S744 amnesty bill with a doubling of legal immigration to 2.0 million annually. When I called up one of the women in his office, Alexis Harrigan, I said, “What didn’t you understand about the figures and facts I presented to you in my presentation?”

She replied, “Yours wasn’t the only opinion.”

I said, “Mine wasn’t an opinion; it was scientific fact that we cannot support, sustain or continue as viable civilization with the addition of 100 immigrants.”

She said, “Senator Bennet stands behind the bill.”

I hung up in disgust, exasperation and a sense of futility.

This past week, I interviewed on a national radio station with a very bright and highly educated man named Ernest Hancock.  He told me, “I don’t care about the numbers; I want the freedom to choose and make my own choices.”

I said, “You better care about the numbers.  Everything possesses limits; a pool, airplane, restaurant, movie theater, etc.  You cannot exceed those limits. If you do, you face accelerating consequences.  There’s no way to continue in denial of the numbers.”

Amazingly, he condemns his children to a very limited future, a very nasty future and a very degraded future.  We condemn all our children to a very limited, crowded and chaotic future.

If we allow this invasion to continue, we will definitely add 100 million immigrants.  If we continue on this path, we will force the famous saying, “If we do not learn from history, we will most definitely suffer from repeating it.”

These quotes from top experts say it all:

“The U.S. will set a record in the rate of rise—and fall of an empire.  Between wide-open borders and fall of the dollar and growing population against a declining resource base, the US will be defeated from within. Mobs will rule the streets in the nation that is now the third largest in the world and unable to support its population except by taking resources from other countries.”  Arnold Toynbee, historian

“A simple look at the upward path of global greenhouse emissions indicates we will continue to squeeze the trigger on the gun we have put to our own head.”  Eugene Linden, The Winds of Change: Climate, Weather and the Destruction of Civilization

“Pressures resulting from unrestrained population growth put demands on the natural world that can overwhelm any efforts to achieve a sustainable future. If we are to halt the destruction of our environment, we must accept limits to that growth.” World Scientists’ Warning to Humanity, signed by 1600 senior scientists from 70 countries, including 102 Nobel Prize laureates

And still, we just don’t get it!
