Obama Urging Republicans to Oppose Trump Way Oversteps

by Stephen Lendman

On the same day he began terror-bombing Libya, naked aggression a second time with no legal authority, he was way out-of-bounds urging Republicans to oppose their party standard bearer in November.

Calling him "unfit to serve," he said "(t)he question (they) have to ask themselves is: If you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said (in criticizing the family of a US soldier killed in Iraq) is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?"

His remarks were virtually unprecedented, showing the deplorable state of US politics. Both party standard bearers are unacceptable.

Trump is the lesser of two evils, Hillary infinitely worse - the most recklessly dangerous presidential aspirant in US history as I explain repeatedly, urging voters to reject her or risk greater war on humanity and subservience to Wall Street than already.

Trump accurately calls her "crooked Hillary," a serial "liar," a "thief," a "devil." He left out war criminal multiple times over, a woman belonging in prison, not any public office, contemptuous of human rights and needs, indifferent to human suffering, concerned only about self-aggrandizement and enrichment.

Trump criticized US Capt. Humayun Khan's family. His father Khizr spoke at last week's Democrat convention, urging support for Clinton.

He blasted Trump's position on Muslim immigrants, at the same time questioned his knowledge of constitutional law.

Trump shot back, tweeting "Mr. Khan, who does not know me, viciously attacked me from the stage of the DNC and is now all over the TV doing the same - Nice!"

"This story is not about Mr. Khan, who is all over the place doing interviews, but rather RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM and the US Get smart!"

In a statement released last weekend, he said while "I feel deeply for the loss of his son, Mr Khan, who has never met me, has no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution, (which is false) and say many other inaccurate things."

On Tuesday, he explained he "said nice things about the son, and I feel that very strongly, but of course I was hit very hard from the stage, and you know it's just one of those things but no I don't regret anything."

A minor incident was blown hugely out of proportion to its significance. If something similar happened unrelated to political campaigning, it would have attracted little attention if any.

Hillary is the establishment's candidate, her high crimes ignored or given short shrift, Trump assailed no matter what he does or doesn't do.

Are things rigged against him in November? He says so and likely he's right.
