Mr. Khan Have you read the Constitution?

By Dr. Greg J. Dixon

Mr. Khizr Khan is the Gold Star father who so dramatically held up a copy of the Constitution of the U.S. at the Democratic Convention and asked Donald Trump if he had ever read a copy of "This Document?"  Of course the whole thing was staged to embarrass Mr. Trump over the issue of Muslim immigration.  Few knew that Mr. Kahn was not just an ordinary citizen, but rather a personal, long time, associate of Hillary Clinton, an Immigration Attorney himself since the 1980's, specializing in the EB-5 Visa Program for Foreign Visitors.  For whatever reason he removed his web site shortly after he appeared at the DNC.

Tragically Mr. Trump did not have the forethought to ask Mr. Kahn if he had ever read the Constitution, in particular Article II, Section 1 which gives to us the oath that the new President covenants with "We the People?"  It declares, "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Therefore Mr. Trump, as the President of the U.S. has every right on earth to enforce the immigration laws to make sure that Muslim terrorists do not come into this country and terrorize the citizens of this land through terrorist tactics.  Besides Sharia Law is not compatible to the U.S. Constitution nor can it be.  No Muslim can swear allegiance to the U.S. Constitution and take the oath that is necessary to be a Naturalized Citizen of the United States.  That oath says, "I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America …"

You who are reading this right now make the call.  How could any Muslim, swear allegiance to the Flag and Constitution of the U.S. and Sharia Law at the same time.  No true Muslim can renounce Sharia Law because it is equal to the Quran, just as the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount are equal to the Bible.  How could any Christian believer renounce either of those great portions of scripture.  They could not.  Not even to become a citizen of another country.

Those thirty-five words, that our President states, also makes it clear that the citizens of the United States of America do not go to the polls every four years to elect a King or dictator, but rather a President of a Republic, not a "Democracy".  We say a Republic because that is what our Founders said that they had established.  It is what our Pledge of Allegiance says that they established.  Our Pledge of Allegiance says, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands…"

Well what about those that say there is no difference between a Republic and a democracy.  First they are spelled differently, and they also have very subtle differences in meaning.  Let's look at that difference.

republic; plural noun: 1. a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.

democracy: noun

a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

(Definition from Google on line dictionary)

Just remember this subtle difference when you hear those that say we need to go to a direct democracy, or that we need to do away with the Primary System, or the Electoral College in the electing of Presidents, etc.  All of this is the difference between a Republic and a democracy.  Democracy is really Mobocracy or the one who can scream the loudest or the one who can gather the largest mob to shout down a speaker on a college campus or a political rally.

You need to remember that when you go to the polls on November 8 that you are not voting for a man or a woman but rather an ideology.  Socialism or Capitalism, A continuing Christian Republic or a Socialistic democracy drifting toward Communism.  Supreme Court Justices who believe in the rights of the unborn or those who will continue to allow unborn infants to be ripped up in the womb.  Judges that will allow our borders to be closed to terrorists that will kill our wives and children, or those who believe in a Nation's right to survival.  My friend, there has never been a time in the history of our nation when our very survival hangs in the balance as this election.  And yet we have Christian people who are arguing over trifles.

There are others who will stay home and not vote at all when there are people in the world who would give all that they have for the privilege of self-government.  What are we going to say to our children and grandchildren, let alone our Lord when we stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ to give account of our stewardship?

Rom 13:11-14   And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  12  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13   Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. Rom 14  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
