Israeli Collaborator Abbas' UN Address
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)
He's Palestine's illegitimate president, selected by Israel, serving at its discretion, disposable if daring to represent his people responsibly - never throughout his deplorable tenure, why most Palestinians despise him.
He highlighted the 1993 Oslo Accords, a Palestinian Versailles. He was involved in capitulating to one-sided Israeli demands, inflicting misery on long-suffering Palestinians, horrific conditions throughout his tenure as anointed president.
He feigns support for ending occupation harshness, enforcing it collaboratively with Israel instead.
He's rhetorically against settlement expansions while doing nothing to contest them. Instead of pursuing equity and justice for Palestinians, he's part of the problem, not the solution, a despicable character, hugely corrupt, benefitting at the expense of people he doesn't give a damn about.
His lofty UN rhetoric belies his police state enforcement of ruthless Israeli policies - saying one thing, consistently doing another, terrorizing Palestinians, notably human rights advocates, independent journalists and anyone criticizing his ruthlessness.
Saying "(w)e must (end) the Israeli occupation of our land" rings hollow. For over a generation, he's done nothing responsible for Palestinians, exploiting, not serving them, growing super-rich at the same time - ill-gotten wealth.
The so-called peace process is the greatest hoax in modern times, Abbas perpetuating the myth, publicly saying what Palestinians want to hear, privately back-stabbing them repeatedly, serving Israeli interests, not theirs.
His UN address made painful listening, his deplorable policies belying his rhetoric. Nothing he says is believable.
He treats Gazans inhumanely, slashing required financial aid, contributing to health and electricity crisis conditions, supporting Israeli aggression on the Strip, falsely claiming he seeks "protection for our people in Gaza."
His high-level photo-op welcomes in Washington and other Western capitals reflect his support for Israeli harshness. Otherwise he'd be persona non grata, likely eliminated long ago, replaced by another puppet, doing the bidding of his master.
As long as he and likeminded rogues run things in Ramallah, longstanding Palestinian suffering won't end. Liberation will remain a distant dream.
The international community continues to yawn, one-sidedly supporting Israel, failing to intervene responsibly for justice.
Palestinians remain on their own, pursuing their liberating struggle, its prospect nowhere in sight.
