Russia Falsely Believes Diplomacy with Washington Can Work

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

In the post-WW II era, dealing with America diplomatically rarely worked. Exceptions proved the rule.

Responsible leadership in Washington is absent today. Hawkish neocon dark forces run things.

Presidents and bipartisan congressional leadership are fronts for their agenda.

America's empire of bases was established for world conquest and dominance - regime change planned against all sovereign independent countries, wanting pro-Western puppet rule replacing them.

In her 2008 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton warned she would "totally obliterate" Iran if it attacked Israel.

Iran hasn't attacked another country in centuries. Perhaps she had a false flag in mind - to be blamed on the country as a pretext for US aggression.

All US wars are based on Big Lies. Iranophobe Dick Cheney wants war on the Islamic Republic, his alternative to the nuclear deal before consummated.

He urged aggression as vice president. He still does, favoring cruise missile diplomacy.

The US-orchestrated 1980s Iran/Iraq war failed to achieve Washington's objective. So did two attempted color revolutions.

Neocons consider Russia America's top threat - for its sovereign independence, its nuclear capability, and opposition to US imperial wars on humanity.

Is US aggression on the country inevitable? Will preemptive US nuclear war kill us all?

Preventing it before launched is key. Neocons infesting Washington scoff at diplomacy.

The only language they understand is force - giving them a taste of their own medicine they haven't experienced since war in Southeast Asia, forcing America out of Vietnam after 10 bloody years of fighting.

Russia and Washington jointly operate in Syria - Moscow legally at the behest of Assad combatting terrorism, the US lawlessly for regime change, supporting ISIS, al-Nusra and other cutthroat killers.

Dealing with Washington and its rogue allies diplomatically to resolve conflict failed despite years of trying - appeasing Obama and Trump instead, encouraging them to continue pursuing regime change.

A new approach is needed, slapping Washington down, showing its aggression no longer will be tolerated, warning Israel not to escalate things.

Appeasement never works. Diplomacy hasn't gotten Washington, NATO or Israel to work with Russia for conflict resolution - not in Syria, Ukraine, or anywhere else.

America's permanent war agenda for global dominance continues because Russia, China, and the world community failed to challenge it responsibly.

When Sergey Lavrov says US forces operate illegally in Syria and must leave, Washington ignores him, continuing its aggression unchallenged.

Humanity destroying nuclear war is the greatest potential threat of our time.

Washington's rage for global dominance makes it almost inevitable if Russia, ideally with China, don't act preemptively to prevent it - forcefully enough to make clear they'll no longer tolerate US aggression.

Pursuing failed diplomacy for unattainable peace in our time risks eventual global war with nukes.

The time to prevent it is now, not after nukes begin detonating - potentially dooming us all.
