Anti-Democratic Alliance for Securing Democracy

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The ASD is a sinister organization run by neocon extremist Russophobes.

They include former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff, Project for the New American Century co-founder William Kristol, former acting CIA director Michael Morell, former ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, and retired admiral James Stavridis, among others.

ADS was established to demonize Russia and Vladimir Putin, claiming they're responsible for an "unprecedented attack (on) American democracy."

How can what doesn't exist be attack(ed)? The group, likeminded ones, the US intelligence community and media scoundrels never revealed evidence of Russian interference in America's electoral process or anything else.

Accusations and allegations without it are groundless. They persist without letup.

ASD: "Putin's Russia is seeking to harm the national security of the United States and our democratic allies and weaken us as nations by striking at our core strength - the strength that enables us to protect and advance our interests and prosperity."

"These efforts are particularly insidious because they seek to use our greatest strength - our openness - against us in order to undermine our democracy."

Fact: "Putin's Russia" seeks world peace and stability, mutual cooperation among all nations, and respect for their sovereign rights.

Fact: Washington wages endless wars of aggression for unchallenged global dominance - all sovereign independent nations targeted for regime change.

ASD quoted a US intelligence community Big Lie, saying "Moscow will apply lessons learned from its Putin-ordered campaign aimed at the US presidential election to future influence efforts worldwide, including against US allies and their election processes."

ASD lied claiming Putin seeks to sow political discord in America and elsewhere, adding "every party and democratic nation is at risk."

Accusing Russia of "multifaceted aggression," it said Washington and its allies must unite against it.

According to ASD, likeminded groups, and media scoundrels, Russian bots seek to undermine America, focusing on anything potentially divisive.

ASD tracks hundreds of Twitter accounts it claims are linked to a Russian influence campaign, no evidence provided proving anything, no information on how the accounts were chosen - if they even exist or maybe are fake ones.

It claims accounts selected post information from alleged Russian propaganda sources. How is this known? It isn't. ASD just says it knows so accept what it claims.

Anything online critical of America's imperial agenda risks being called Russian bot influence.

According to social media professor Karen North, bots are "going to find any contentious issue, and instead of making it an opportunity for compromise and negotiation, they turn it into an unsolvable issue bubbling with frustration…heighten(ing) frustration and anger."

The NYT turned truth on its head calling the Parkland, Florida high school shootings "an example of how Russian operatives are still at it" - how it didn't explain.

Neocon Senator Mark Warner lied, claiming "(w)hat we're seeing is a continuous assault by Russia to target and undermine our democratic institutions, and they're going to keep coming at us."

Whatever goes on in America and elsewhere providing potential red meat for Russophobes is automatically blamed on Moscow.

Examples include nonexistent "Russian aggression" in Ukraine, nonexistent Russian interference in US, European and other elections, nonexistent Russian threats to anyone anywhere, nonexistent malicious Russian tweets about the Parkland incident, even the just concluded Datona 500 auto race.

It's hard imagining why anyone believes this rubbish, obvious disinformation.

Throughout its existence, the Russian Federation never threatened America.

Mutually assured destruction (MAD) kept America and Soviet Russia from attacking each other.

Russia has existed for over 1,000 years, America for nearly 250. Never throughout this time did Moscow threaten US security.

Washington's rage for global dominance forces Russia to prepare defensively for possible US aggression, including unthinkable nuclear war.
