Haley's Resignation Positions Her to Run for President

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Maybe she'll run in 2020 if Trump is too unpopular to win a second term. Otherwise, expect it in 2024, Haley likely wanting to become the first female US president.

The possibility should terrify everyone. If elected to high office, her militant extremism would threaten world peace more than already, increasing the chance for nuclear war with Russia, China, and/or Iran, the ultimate nightmare scenario if occurs.

Earlier, she denied interest in serving as vice president, her sights likely set on the highest US office.

On Tuesday, she denied it, saying "(for) all of you that are going to ask about 2020, no, I am not running for 2020."

"I can promise you what I'll be doing is campaigning for (Trump). I look forward to supporting the president in the next election."

Her resignation letter said she'll remain in her post until January 2019, then "again become a private citizen" - able to cash in big before seeking high office ahead, she failed to explain.

She'll "continue to speak out…on important public policy matters," staying in the limelight, campaigning for the brass ring without admitting it.

According to former US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, "Nikki Haley does intend to run for president, if not in 2020, then in 2024. She earned enough of a reputation to outshine Trump and his scandals."

Rob Godfrey worked on both Haley gubernatorial races, serving as her deputy chief of staff during her second term. Ahead, "the sky is the limit" for her, he said.

According to Greenville County, South Carolina GOP chairman Nate Leupp, Haley is in a "perfect position" to run for president in 2024…I could very easily see her as the first female (US) president."

Political consultant David Woodard said her run for the White House, if undertaken, may not be successful, explaining "there is nothing that prepares you for what the national stage is like."

He expects Haley to make "a mountain of money" in the private sector while preparing for a potential presidential run ahead.

According to a hardline right-wing Defend Democracy Together poll, around half of Republican respondents in Iowa and New Hampshire would consider an alternative to Trump in 2020 - 40% against her candidacy.

The September poll was conducted before she resigned as UN envoy. It's a long time to 2024. According to Republican strategist Mike Murphy, "(r)esignations in national politics are highly calculated maneuvers."

Haley's move "was so abrupt and the timing so politically weird that it sure reads like it's preempting something."

She, Bolton and Pompeo are the most dangerously extremist Trump regime officials. She's an undiplomatic geopolitical know-nothing - unfit for any public office.

If elected president ahead, her militant hostility toward Russia, Iran, and other sovereign independent nations could launch WW III.
