Thomas Jefferson rightly noted that big cities are the "bane" of freedom. And in a letter to James Madison, Jefferson wrote, "When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become corrupt as in Europe." Former Obama Press Secretary Says GOP Unfairly Exploiting Administration's Failures The incoherence of President Obama's foreign policy and the cascade of domestic policy scandals are being unfairly exploited for political gain according to former Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. "Hitting a man when he is down is just plain dirty," Gibbs maintained. "It's disloyal and unpatriotic. Rather than criticize the President, Republicans should be looking for ways to help him recover from the battering he is taking in the media. That would be the decent thing to do." Quite frankly, I am sick of hearing that, “America was built by immigrants…immigration is our greatest asset…diversity is our greatest strength…immigrants make America grow.” That was then; this is now. We no longer can absorb the “masses yearning to breathe free.” At some point, countries around the world and their citizens need to “make a better life” for themselves in their own countries. One hundred years ago, this country enjoyed endless open spaces, virgin forests, clean rivers and unlimited resources.
