Candidate Barack Obama offered a lofty vision of how his White House would operate. When the details of health reform were being hammered out, he vowed, "We'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies." Now, it turns out, the Obama White House has cut a backroom -- actually, Roosevelt Room -- deal with Tauzin: Drugmakers would ante up $80 billion in savings in return for a promise that Medicare wouldn't be allowed to negotiate drug prices. "We were assured: 'We need somebody to come in first. If you come in first, you will have a rock-solid deal,' " Tauzin told the New York Times. Imagine that.

Manipulation is what we got many years ago when we traded a more or less free market for the "progressive" interventionist state. When government is big, the well-connected always have an advantage over the rest of us in influencing public policy. is case, big business wants to shape -- and profit from -- what inevitably will be an interventionist health-care reform. Can you think of the last time a major business supported a truly free market in anything? "

Let’s just ignore all the stuttering and stammering from the Wizard of Uhs. Let’s concentrate on his contention that ObamaCAre will be good because it’s like the post office. The post office has no competition. It has a monopoly on first class mail. Much like ObamaCare will have a monopoly on healthcare. Despite that monopoly, they lose money hand-over-fist every year. Much like ObamaCAre will have a monopoly on healthcare. Fedex and UPS eat the post office’s lunch where they actually compete. Much like insurance companies…uhhhh…well, there won’t really be any insurance companies to compete with ObamaCare. The Greatest President In History, who has never worked in private enterprise, shows absolutely no understanding of how that real world thing works. See video:

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society' whether they are worthy of health care," Palin wrote. "Such a system is downright evil."

In almost twenty years of full time activism, rarely have I seen such an uproar as we're seeing over Comrade Obama and Congress' attempt to take over another private industry. My email box has been deluged with hundreds of messages every day for weeks about this so called health care reform. Americans have read the fine print and gone ballistic, as well they should. The wrath of the American people is long over due. ...

Impugning Americans’ motives, just because they ask questions, is foolhardy. They know they’ve been had. Just look at the war that didn’t create democracy, the stimulus that didn’t create jobs, and the bank bailouts that didn’t provide loans. The system is rigged and Americans are now after the riggers. Or as New York Times columnist, Frank Rich, wrote about the bank bailouts, the questions are increasing in intensity: “The questions about Geithner’s role in adjudicating the subsequent bailouts aren’t going away, and neither is the angry public sense that the fix is still in. We just learned that nine of those bailed-out banks — which in total received $175 billion of taxpayers’ money, but as yet have repaid only $50 billion — are awarding a total of $32.6 billion in bonuses for 2009.” All the bailouts, fixes, riggings, and deceitful word games, have further undermined support for any health care overhaul. The public is rightfully distrustful. Calling the town hall atten

Sign the petition! Barack Obama and liberals in Congress are moving quickly to pass health care "reform" that opens the door for a national, governement run health care system. And Americans must speak out now and tell Congress "NO!" as loudly as possible. Obama already laid the groundwork for this with the recent "stimulus" bill...which provided billions to study how to give us the same kind of socialized health care as Great Britain...with a "national health care board" that would decide who gets what kind of care, and when. It's all about control. Control over one-seventh of the entire US economy. Control over how we live our lives. Every behavior we engage in would be subject to regulation because of the cost of health care to the new government run (taxpayer funded) program.

Reich himself is a scumbag but at least he is pointing out the FRAUD. Likened to extortion. Assault on democracy. Strong charges put forth by Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich in regard to a deal cut by the Obama administration with Big Pharma (major pharmaceutical companies) to support his proposed health-care reform. If you start to see a major advertising blitz by the pharmaceutical companies in support of Obamacare (and you will) and wonder how it happened, I strongly recommend How the White House’s Deal with Big Pharma Undermines Democracy, recently posted at Wall Street Pit. Reich weighs in: I want universal health insurance. And having had a front-row seat in 1994 when Big Pharma and the rest of the health-industry complex went to battle against it, I can tell you first hand how big and effective the onslaught can be. So I appreciate Big Pharma’s support this time around, and I like it that the industry is doing the reverse of what it did last time, and airing ads to

While the media pointed their hypocritical fingers at town hall meeting protesters for supposedly being organized by conservative backers, they've conveniently ignored an aggressive recruiting campaign by liberal organizations looking to help President Obama get his agenda through Congress. Six-thirty on a Sunday morning in Scottsdale, Arizona.  My wife and I are on our two-hour walk and far from home.  Cell phone rings.  Our 18-year-old son Chris is on the phone to tell us that he was out running in the neighborhood and was bitten by a dog that was being walked by its owner.

We tell him to get the owner’s name, phone number and the dog’s shot record, and then to go home and wash out the wound and put antiseptic on it.

After doing that, he calls back and thinks he might need to see a doctor.  Thanks to American health-care, we are able to tell him that

What I have a problem with is the radical socialist/fascist restructuring of our health care system, which a majority of Americans (60%) find acceptable or better, in order to take care of the legitimate 5% who should be covered. The nation's drugmakers stand ready to spend $150 million to help President Barack Obama overhaul health care this fall, according to numerous officials, a staggering sum that could dwarf attempts to derail his chief domestic priority. The White House and allies in Congress are well aware of the effort by Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, a somewhat surprising political alliance. The campaign, now in its early stages, includes television advertising under PhRMA's own name and commercials aired in conjunction with the liberal group, Families USA. Numerous people with knowledge of PhRMA's plans said they had been told it would likely reach $150 million and perhaps $200 million. Additionally, the industry is the major contributor to Healthy Economy Now, which recently completed a $12 million round of advertising nationally and in several states. The ads were made by companies with close ties to Democrats and the White House and generally reflected the adm

HIDE THE TRUTH UNTIL AFTER THE NEXT ELECTION "Transparency" LIAR! Insurance companies could come out ahead, too. "They'll get a big new market with millions and millions of new customers," said Gary Claxton, a health policy expert with the Kaiser Family Foundation. "Their average profit per person may not be as high, but they still should be able to earn a profit by insuring more people." One major catch is that the consumer protections would not be available immediately. They are timed to take effect alongside government subsidies to help people buy coverage. In the House Democratic legislation, the coverage expansion would come in 2013 — after the next presidential elections. Part of the reason for the delay is to make the costs of the bill appear more manageable.

Obama Health Care is not about Health Care, it is about power! They are taking your liberties and invading your life. Founding Fathers Franklin and Jefferson both said approximately, "They who trade liberty for security soon have neither and deserve none!" Are we really going to trade some liberty for some health care security? I for one, would rather die early as free man than live longer as a slave, serf, oaf or jester for our Government? Have they stopped instilling the spirit of our fore father's in the youth in our Public School's? Are we really to the point where we are seriously considering trading away some of the liberty that our Founding Father's fought and died for just because we don't want to take responsibility for our own health care?

OUTRAGEOUS YOU WORK FOR US YOU LOUSY TRAITORS! The health-care debate was supposed to play out at rallies and inside gymnasiums when lawmakers headed home for the August recess. But after a series of contentious town-hall meetings, some Democratic lawmakers are thinking twice about holding large public gatherings. Instead, they are opting for smaller sessions, holding meetings by phone or inviting constituents for one-on-one office hours.

In his first five months in office, Mr. Obama had racked up big wins—the stimulus, children’s health insurance, House approval of cap-and-trade. But he stayed too long at the hot table. All the Democrats in Washington did. They overinterpreted the meaning of the 2008 election, and didn’t fully take into account how the great recession changed the national mood and atmosphere. And so the shock on the faces of Congressmen who’ve faced the grillings back home. And really, their shock is the first thing you see in the videos. They had no idea how people were feeling. Their 2008 win left them thinking an election that had been shaped by anti-Bush, anti-Republican, and pro-change feeling was really a mandate without context; they thought that in the middle of a historic recession featuring horrific deficits, they could assume support for the invention of a huge new entitlement carrying huge new costs. What has been most unsettling is not the congressmen’s surprise but a hard new tone that

U.S. Rep. John Dingell was greeted with jeers and cheers Thursday as he tried to explain why changing the nation’s health care system — as he has advocated for more than a half century in Congress — makes sense. Despite what some protesters said, “there will be no payment of taxpayer funds for abortion,” Dingell, 83, told the crowd. As Dingell opened the forum, Mike Sola of Milan interrupted the congressman as he pushed his son, Scott, in a wheelchair, to the podium. He said proposed changes wouldn’t help Scott and called Dingell a fraud. Even before the Romulus town hall began, opponents engaged backers. “You may be dead in five years!” shouted Val Butsicaris, 60, of Taylor. “They may euthanize you!” She referred to concerns of government rationing of care for elderly people.
