When attacking Israel, skip this antisemitic diatribe: "Y'all is Khazars!"
By Halina Brooke Reed
Okay, so I'll be the first to say that I have a lot of problems with some of what Israel does, just like I have problems with many governments in the world.  It saddens me to see antisemitism fueled by legitimiate criticisms of Israel and it worries me when antisemites make legitimate criticisms seem without merit.  That brings me to an attack I've seen very surprisingly around the Freedom Movement here in Phoenix.

The Khazars were a semi-nomadic Turkik people between the 600s-900s AD.  They lived and ruled in what is now Khazakstan, Parts of Russia, The Ukraine, Azerbajan, and parts of Turkey.  During a short time in Khazar history, their royalty chose upon themselves to convert to Judaism.  Does this mean they stayed Jews after that?  No.  Maybe some did.  However, more to the point, does this explain all the vast populace of Jews throughout western and eastern Europe?

There had been Jews in Europe since before the time of the Christian Savior Jesus.  As early as 2 BC, there were over 7000 openly Jewish people in the Roman Empire.   As early as the 3rd and 4th centuries BC, there were Jewish artifacts like the Menorah found in places like Switzerland and Germany.  There were also collections of evidence in France and Northern Italy of Jewish life from the 400s and 500s AD.

Between 800-1100 AD in Europe, there were upwards of 1.5 million Jews living there.  Jews were warmly embraced by their non-jewish neighbors until around 1300, when, despite all their contributions to society (many as doctors), they were being expelled from their newfound homes (after having left Israel those many years before, but continuing their religious traditions).

Between the German Crusade in 1096, the the French Crusade in 1147, and Shepherds Crusades in 1251 and 1320, many Jews were attacked, killed, and had property taken away.  After the crusades came the expulsions, from England in 1290, from France in 1396, Austria in 1421, and Spain in 1492 (despite their golden age of thriving their since 800 AD).

This is when, get this, many Jews fled North and East to Poland and then Russia, Belarus, Romania, Ukraine.  Some others insead came to the New World with explorers, to what we now call America.

Let's turn back now to the "Khazar anscestral theory" so widely regurgitated on the antisemitic spheres of the internet.  Khazars, as an empire, were known to have their court convert quite often.  They began with Turkik Shamanism, and funnily enough, abandoned the practice as their kings kept having to be sacrificed.

They then dabbled in Judaism, having realized that to their west, there was a growing Christian empire and to their East, a growing Muslim Empire.  At the time, both the Christians and the Moselms viewed the Jews with at least some esteem, which the Khazars felt would help them with trade and merchants between both of their surrounding communities.

The Khazars came to see themselves in the capacity of "protectors" of international Jewry, perhaps out of newfound spiritual enlightenment, perhaps out of fondness for their new friends and spiritual advisors.

Anyway, many in the antisemitic world have proposed that Khazars are genetically related to and in fact genetic descendants of Ashkenazi Jews.  This includes many in the racist right and the Christian Identity Movement and aryan and esoteric Nazism.  Two Authors whose research is documented on this are:

Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke, Black Sun: Aryan cults, esoteric nazism, and the politics of identity, NYU Press, 2002, ISBN 0814731554, p. 237.

The Christian Identity Movement, Black Israelites, and British Israelites have tried and failed to prove this connection from Jews to Khazars in an attempt to delegitimize the Ashkenazi connection to Israel.

The main idea is that the Jews, racially, are a mongrel community, most of them being not Semites, but of Khazar and European origin." Well, Halina, you may ask, "Where's the proof that it isn't true?"  We have that very genetic proof.  Now, usually the accuser or alleger has to find proof to back up his claims, but this is about Jewish People, we always have extra hoops to jump through.  Here's your proof that the Khazars are not the anscestors of modern Ashkenazi Jews:

The above is a link to a PDF describing the genetic findings.

There you go.  Please either omit this Khazar/Jew argument from future dialogues or otherwise know you're lying.

I hope you pass this onto anyone fighting for freedom and truth who may need to amend what they think about European Jews.

Anti-Semitism goes back to the day the Jews were first heard of as slaves of the Egyptians, and their history has been a long sad one ever since. At least Christians are now mainly over it because they finally figured out that whether Jews "killed the Savior" or not, God long ago reversed the conviction and sentence, so no harm, no foul, and that Jews have a historical right to a homeland in Israel with or without some holy books some of them wrote or their veracity. Too bad, Islam from day one has been in an all-out war with the Jews, its very theology being an attempt to call Jewish theology a lie, but not a fairy tale, a twisted version of the truth, and reverse the favor of God from Jews to Arabs, and since it's ingrained in Muhammad and his Quran it will never end as long as Islam exists. Hence the new anti-Semitism is fueled by Saudi oil money, and has unfortunately made great inroads around the world, especially in mainly atheist post-Christian Europe, who have formed a strange marriage with the fundamentalist Muslim Arabs that can't last long before it explodes in their faces. Here in America, which is still mainly Christian, we're too wise to fall for it, except for some misguided fringers on both wings. Instead we recognize that the Jews need a national homeland precisely because of anti-Semitism, a safe haven that is protected by U.S. military might, even if the rest of the world turns its back. Only those ignorant of Islam fall for the baloney that the Israelis are invaders or Nazis who stole the land of the Palestinian people, a fake people who are just Arabs whose ancestors stole the entire region of the world way back before it was taken from them by the Turks, and from the Turks by the Western Allies, all while the real Jews were kept homeless and finally took matters in their own hands after the Holocaust.

It's easy. Follow the Money! It leads back to Central European Banksters that so happen to also be Israeli Zionists...oh how convenient isn't it?

If you want people to stop hatin' on y'all then Damnit do something about your Bankster Elitists that you have in your ranks and abolish the racist apartheid and construct a nation based on an idea of Liberty and Equality for ALL colors, races and creeds rather than one based on a Religion.

Funny how people easily forget how Christians and Muslims are treated by the Zionists within Israel and abroad isn't it.....

Aint no Brazilian or Norwegian bother my Liberties and pocket book now that's for darn sure. :-)

Darn you, Mike.

For centuries my people have been accused of kidnapping cherubic, Aryan-featured little kids, slitting their throats with our shechita knives and using their blood to make Matzah for Passover.

We have been accused of sneaking into the local church and re-torturing Jesus of Nazereth anew by stabbing Communion wafers with daggers.

We have been accused of being conniving, usurious Joo Banksters, who sucker the fine moral paragons that comprise the leaders in Government and allied Industry, ensnaring them in a two-thousand-year-plot, playing both sides against the middle, towards World Dominion.

I for one, have grown weary of these claims.

I do not like bloody Matzah (who does?).  I am either on the net, or getting a crummy night's sleep, when I was scheduled for cracker stabbing.  If my landsmen are rapacious international financiers who destroy countries, and murder millions on a whim, why is the work of three generations in our family business all but spent, trying to survive the latest economic stimulus?

Well. I, for one was just on the cusp of re-inventing myself as an erudite, yet mysterious, racconteur, rumoured to be a Khazar prince, when you come along with this article and poo in my punchbowl.

Phooey.  Back to the drawing board.

I don't usually agree with Renzulli, but he's on track here.

Another anti-semite thing going around the freedom movement is that Ashkenazi Jews are Khazars and it's "proven" because the Ashkenazi Jewish language was the or is descendent from the Khazar language.

This is utter nonsense.

1) "Ashkenaz" is the Hebrew word for Germany.

2) Most Ashkenazi Yiddish speakers are understood by native German speakers and vice versa.  In fact, the word "Yiddish" is an anglicization of the German word "Juedisch" (or Jewish).  And Yiddish is officially a Germanic language.

3) The anti-semites claim that the Khazar Jews are not "real Jews".  DNA testing shows that not only is that false, but it's hard to tell between any European Jews and European non-Jews.  And that includes the Ashkenazi that migrated as far east as Kyrgistan and even China.
