The date for oral argument in the censorship lawsuit
against Phoenix is set for August 23rd -- and you can attend.
Tasteful dress and behavior is requested.
The Goldwater Institute, which is representing me and TrainMeAZ in this case just sent out the announcement below. You can forward this message if you wish. Seating in the courtroom is limited, so if you want to attend arrive early. The hearing should be over before lunch.
The Goldwater Institute invites you to join us for oral arguments at 9:15 a.m., Thursday, August 23 in our case, Korwin v. Cotton.
In 2010, the Phoenix Public Transit Department ordered the removal of advertisements for TrainMeAZ, a business that directs people to gun training, from 50 public bus shelters, claiming they did not promote a commercial transaction as required by city policy. The Goldwater Institute is asking a judge to strike down the City of Phoenix Transit Advertising Standards under the free speech, due process, and equal protection provisions of the Arizona and U.S. Constitutions. Phoenix should be required to develop constitutional standards that make clear beforehand what kind of advertising will be approved, so all businesses are treated fairly and none will be subject to potential censorship based on a city official's subjective views.
The oral arguments will be held at:
Maricopa County Superior Court
101 W. Jefferson, Phoenix
Courtroom 413, 4th floor
East Court Building
Judge Mark H. Brain, presiding

2. A movie for the good guys
If you haven't heard about the movie "2016" yet you will.
The political left dominates Hollywood, now the right has a movie that,
according to early reports, is a blockbuster. Its initial limited release in Arizona
is listed below, I am planning to attend the 8/24 showing at the Arizona Center.
If turnouts are sufficient, major national release will follow soon.
The producers are Oscar-winning pros with credits like Jurassic Park and Rain Man.

About "2016: Obama's America"
2016 Obama's America takes audiences on a gripping visual journey into the heart of the world's most powerful office to reveal the struggle of whether one man's past will redefine America over the next four years. The film examines the question, "If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?"
Across the globe and in America, people in 2008 hungered for a leader who would unite and lift us from economic turmoil and war. True to America's ideals, they invested their hope in a new kind of president, Barack Obama. What they didn't know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him--who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world.
Immersed in exotic locales across four continents, best selling author Dinesh D'Souza races against time to find answers to Obama's past and reveal where America will be in 2016. During this journey he discovers how Hope and Change became radically misunderstood, and identifies new flashpoints for hot wars in mankind's greatest struggle. The journey moves quickly over the arc of the old colonial empires, into America's empire of liberty, and we see the unfolding realignment of nations and the shape of the global future.
Emotionally engaging, "2016 Obama's America" will make you confounded and cheer as you discover the mysteries and answers to your greatest aspirations and worst fears. Love him or hate him, you don't know him.

3. Organizations Team Up To Ensure Fair Ballot Measures
You want to DO something? Working from home, you can catch people committing fraud and help guarantee that the upcoming election is fair. Help eliminate all the fraud we KNOW is already taking place.
Verify the Vote, Arizona, and True the Vote, have teamed up to ensure that certain Arizona initiative measures will be legally placed on the ballot. These two non-partisan groups are using a high-tech method of checking every signature and petition circulator participating in getting the measure certified for the November ballot.
The “Open Elections/Open Government Act” initiative had petitions circulated by the “Open Government Committee.” This initiative was selected for scrutiny due to the public outcry from both partisan and non-partisan groups for the petitions to be thoroughly reviewed. The initiative is commonly referred to as the “Top Two Primary.”
Historic Effort for Fairness
“This is an historic effort now made possible by our dedicated network of volunteers and emerging technologies to ensure that what we get to vote on has been legally and fairly brought to the ballot,” True The Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht said. “True The Vote does not take any position on the ballot measure -- but wants voters to know that every effort is being made to ensure this initiative has been vetted by a group supporting fair practices by legitimate petition gatherers.”
True the Vote used the same technology to audit petition signatures in the attempted recall of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. With the technology proven, the commitment has now been extended to help citizens in Arizona reviewing each and every signature submitted by the “Open Government Committee” to amend Arizona's Constitution.
With True the Vote's technology, citizen volunteers (that's YOU) across the entire country can help take on monumental task of verifying every petition signer and circulator. And it's easy. And you can do as little or as much as you want, in your spare time. Even while you watch TV.
High Rate of Invalid Signatures Already Found
Early results are showing a very high rate of invalid signatures. There are also indications that some of the petition circulators may have been unqualified to gather signatures by Arizona State Law. One of the gatherers of 52 petitions has been found to be a convicted felon.
When the verification is complete the groups plan to announce the results and turn them over to groups who have indicated they will pursue legal action if there is enough evidence of misconduct.

Coming soon -- An open letter to the "news" media suggesting gun-control counseling. Those folks have such a poor understanding of gun issues they are actually getting in the way of solving the problems of mass shootings like the Batman massacre. They would rather name it after a fine American city that recognize the obvious link between Hollywood and what took place.
Remember -- Arizona had a handful of new laws take effect on August 2, they're posted under the yellow Updates button on my home page, http://www.gunlaws.com
