MIT has a long history of admitting homeschooled students, and these students are successful and vibrant members of our community.

Over the past decade, we have seen a surge in homeschooled applicants. Homeschooled applicants still make up less than 1% of our applicant pool (and less than 1% of our student body), but these numbers are growing. These students come from urban, rural, and suburban neighborhoods; they have been schooled in the home and under the umbrella of larger communities; some have been granted a formal high school diploma, while others were not. Please note that we do not require a high school diploma or GED from our applicants.

At MIT, we do not have separate requirements for homeschooled applicants. Homeschooled applicants, like all of our applicants, are considered within their context, which includes schooling choice, family situation, geographic location, resources, opportunities, and challenges. However, we do have some tips for homeschooled students, based on successful applicants we have admitted in the past.

One of the magazine editions (from September 2011) was devoted solely to Generation Next: Homeschooling, Education...

This curriculum helps you pass on your most important inheritance: your worldview. It is the only video-based, self-taught, reading-intensive, writing-intensive, online homeschool program that provides a systematic defense of limited government and the free market economy. I call this the freedom philosophy.

All of the other reasons are secondary to this one . . . even my 100% money-back guarantee.

The war for your children's minds begins early, but it becomes a high-stakes battle in middle school: sixth grade. Here, the textbooks begin the process of defending the modern state -- the state which provides "free" education. Here is where millions of parents lose the battle. College is merely the "mopping up" operation.

With the Ron Paul Curriculum, you can say goodbye to all that — to running yourself ragged, never feeling caught up, and finding your house a mess and yourself an emotional wreck.

What's more, your students will learn more than ever, from instructors you can trust, in a curriculum endorsed by Ron Paul himself.

The HISTORY BLUEPRINT: Richard's Brain Model "A Comprehensive Ontology of Cognitive Liberty"

The HISTORY BLUEPRINT is a tool for auto-didactic learning, allowing anyone to begin developing a comprehensive understanding of where we are, where we've been, and where we're going as Humanity. By learning to observe, ask questions, and model your findings, you can either start from scratch or work from what's already been mapped out.

The "map is not the territory", but the HISTORY BLUEPRINT reflects that which exists, and the inter-connectivity which can be inferred through the surrounding topics.

CC is a mission to know God, and to make Him known by equipping homeschool parents.

With so much emphasis on STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), it can seem daunting to homeschool parents to choose science curriculum for their students, particularly during the high school years. It can be confusing to wade through the options and to consider the standards of each state.

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions when we look for the perfect science curriculum. Perhaps it is time to set aside our concerns about careers and focus on the educational system and methods that produced great scientists in the past. There are a few things to note about scientific pioneers.

*They were all curious about the world around them.

*They were all careful observers of the world around them.

*They were almost all classically educated.

I thought that FreedomsPhoenix archives had links to and/or recommendations of various home school curriculums or resources. A friend wants to start home schooling.

I'll have up today, Thursday 2017-05-11, what I think you are hoping to share with them. I think you hope to demonstrate all of the help and material available to those that fear Home Education. I'll have this ready for you this afternoon.

Defending Archimedes is the project I think you are referring to. (Video of Speech on just this issue) In this presentation I gave a few years ago at Libertopia I'm pretty sure I explained why I couldn't endorse a single curriculum.

Some of the best information came with a requirement that the student's be logged in to use the material. KahnAcademy not only tracks what information is accessed but HOW the student's mind worked as their progress was tracked on Kahn's website. Partnering with Software Tech Giants didn't make me feel any better either. - is great but I have one account the grandkids all share. But they want to have their own accounts because of the "Game" points they earn as individuals.... I want this software on MY computer as records for our family and not for the surveillance state and their friends.

Even Ron Paul's Home School material has many of the same drawbacks. But by researching all of the material available (even MIT lectures for free online now) a parent can create a very complete experience for their children.

There are several posts with that information in the categories. The blank banner add spaces at the top of the page is where the "Solutions" will be linked to as we develop/promote them (like some suggestions below).

But it is the Decentralization aspects I hope to focus on. I've been endorsing parents and grandparents creating their own plan using all sorts of resources.

DefendingArchimedes is the idea that the individual isn't categorised, labelled, indexed and listed, but that their identity is protected. Defending the geniuses of the future. This is why I'm so supportive of private communication so the next River Tamm isn't targeted with a Kahn report combined with a DNA matching to create a target file (if They can,... They are).

We're finally done with the Pirate site and the final task before hard launch (Promotion) is the ordering of all of the stories on the site for each category and turning on the Shopping Cart

The Education category and FreedomsPhoenix will include the post that Donna is working on now with the material I sent her for you to be able to send to the interested parents. But none of these have the DefendingArchimedes 'endorsement' because of student tracking.

Some are just resources to be used as part of a curriculum. Professor CJ's History is a great resource that everyone can enjoy while learning a lot of history and enjoy it at almost any age. SchoolSucksPodcast and are great examples of a large resource that can be used to craft an age appropriate lesson from. ( John Taylor Gatto)

DefendingArchimedes will rise from the advocacy of Decentralized... everything (including the category of Education - there are only 8 categories).

Please Read/Listen to "The First Letter of Marque" on the front page of PWB front page - Paul Rosenberg was a big help with the concepts BTW. Davi and I created the tone and Ben Stone -TheBadQuaker read the text for the MP3 file.

Decentralization is the mantra I'm pushing and this is the best way I know how while having fun and drawing participation from the movement.

Communication - Energy - Healthcare - Food/Water - Transportation - Shelter - Automation - Education (We're also adding "Build The Ship").

Decentralization/Privacy/Autonomy in Education (and everything else) is what I hope to inspire and support. Later today I'll have something useful to forward to your friend. I'm hoping that it inspires them with all that is available for them to craft an education for their child. There are many ready made packages that would get them going and that they likely will add/delete to in the near future to customize the experience.

But I hope to make it clear that placing the internal workings of their child's mind Online is a very bad Idea in my opinion.
