Trump OKs $4.5 Million for Al-Qaeda-Linked White Helmets
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)
Their members have nothing to do with civil defense, nothing furthering peace over endless wars, nothing related to helping long-suffering Syrians — everything to do with supporting anti-government terrorists, making them complicit with their atrocities.
They operate solely in terrorist-controlled areas. Calling themselves volunteer rescue workers/humanitarian first responders responsible for saving tens of thousands of lives is polar opposite their mission.
The US, Britain, and other Western regimes support the group. So does the Soros Open Society Foundation and likeminded pro-Western interests.
Their members have been photographed and videotaped together with al-Nusra terrorists during beheadings and other atrocities.
The Syria Solidarity Movement earlier called them al-Qaeda "with a facelift," fostering terrorism and imperial ravaging on the phony pretext of humanitarian intervention they don't give a hoot about.
They're enemies of peace, equity and justice. In 2016, they were nominated for Nobel Peace Prize recognition — won that year by Colombian president/narco-state terrorist/mass murderer Manuel Santos.
During an earlier Security Council session, Russia's UN envoy Vasily Nebenzia repeated what he, Defense Ministry spokesman General Igor Konashenkov, and Syrian UN envoy Bashar al-Jaafari stressed earlier.
"(U)ndeniable proof" shows US/UK-supported terrorists and White Helmets connected to them were responsible for staging CW attacks on civilians — incidents falsely blamed on Damascus.
Separately he said "White Helmets deserve to be on the United Nations' designated terrorist list." Instead they're praised in the West, their high crimes financed with blood money.
Russia's reconciliation center in Syria earlier explained the following:
"According to the information received from inhabitants of Idlib province, (US-supported terrorists and White Helmets) film(ed) a staged provocation in the city of Jisr al-Shugur, where 'chemical weapons' are depicted as being used by the Syrian army against civilians."
"The film crews of several Middle Eastern TV channels arrived in Jisr al-Shugur in the morning, as well as the regional affiliate of one of the main American television news networks."
"The plot envisage(d) staged scenes showing…White Helmets 'helping' the residents of Jisr al-Shughur after the Syrian army (was falsely accused of) us(ing) so-called barrel bombs with poisonous substances."
"All the footage of the staged provocation in Jisr al-Shughur (was) to be delivered to the newsrooms of (regional and Western) TV channels (for) broadcast…after (posting them) on social media."
A number of incidents like the above were staged. Despite no proof linking them to Damascus, Assad was falsely blamed.
Like the chemical watchdog OPCW, White Helmets operate as a pro-Western imperial tool.
21st Century Wire's Vanessa Beeley earlier explained that White Helmets are "a primarily US and NATO funded organization embedded in Al Nusra and ISIS held areas exclusively," adding:
They're "a conduit for information, equipment and medical support to maintain the US NATO forces" — involved in raping and destroying sovereign independent states.
"Funding the White Helmets…prolong(s) the suffering and bloodshed of the Syrian people."
An NGO in name only, the sinister group receives millions of dollars from the US, UK, and other NATO regimes.
Their mission is all about serving imperial interests, harming long-suffering victims of US-led aggression, not helping them.
According to White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, the Trump regime authorized (another) $4.5 million for the group — claiming it does "important and highly valued work in the country."
Indeed by working with US armed, funded, and directed jihadists against sovereign Syria and its people, participating in their slaughter and immiseration.
Grisham turned truth on its head, claiming group members rescued over 115,000 people — a bald-faced Big Lie.
On Wednesday, RT explained that legitimate civil defense workers aiding Syrian civilians were (illegally) sanctioned by the US — "along with everyone else loyal to" the sovereign rights of the state and its long-suffering people, adding:
Accusations of Syrian forces' use of "chemical attacks (and) barrel bombs (are) fabrications."
Discretionary US tax dollars largely go down a black hole of waste, fraud and abuse for militarism, endless wars, corporate handouts, and police state harshness against resisters — along with funding for jihadist proxy foot soldiers and their White Helmets accomplices.
