HEALTHY GRANOLA

HEALTHY GRANOLA
 
10 C. Old Fashioned Oats
½ C. Wheat Germ
½ C. Flax Seed
1 C. Sesame Seeds
1 ½ C. Almonds
1 ½ C. Chopped Pecans
1 C. Brown Sugar
1 ½ C. Orange Juice
¾ C. Butter
½ C. Honey
½ C. Molasses
1 ½ tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 TBSP. Vanilla
2 C. Dried Fruit (raisins, blueberries, cranberries (add at end of baking period)
 
1. Preheat oven to 300 F.
2. In large bowl, mix: oats, wheat germ, flax seed, sesame seeds and nuts.
3. In large saucepan, combine: brown sugar, orange juice, butter, honey, molasses, salt,
cinnamon, and vanilla.
4. Heat until thoroughly mixed, but DO NOT BOIL.
5. Pour syrup mixture over dry ingredients and stir till coated well.
6. Spread onto 2 large baking pans (13 X 9).
7. Bake for 60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
8. Add dried fruit to mixture and bake another 15 minutes.
9. Remove from oven and cool. Store in an airtight container in cool, dry place. Will keep up to 6
months.  Makes approximately 20 cups.
