Rom. 13:1: **QQ**Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God.**QQ** (Those who heed this counsel are not rebels, trying to overthrow governments of the world. They subject themselves to the authority of political rulers, obeying them as long as the demands of such rulers do not conflict with God**Q**s requirements. Such governments were foreseen and foretold by God. They exercise authority, not because he empowered them, but by his permission. In his due time he will also remove them.)

Daniel 2:44 tells us: **QQ**The God of heaven will set up a kingdom [in heaven] that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people [for God will never again permit mere human rule]. It [God**Q**s Kingdom] will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.**QQ**

First, it tells us that God**Q**s Kingdom was to be established **QQ**in the days of those kings,**QQ** or while other kingdoms still existed. Second, it tells us that the Kingdom will last forever. It will not be conquered and be replaced by some other government. Third, we see that there will be war between God**Q**s Kingdom and the kingdoms of this world. God**Q**s Kingdom will be victorious. In the end, it will be the only government over mankind. Then humans will enjoy the best rulership they have ever known.

Great article, Pastor Baldwin... it is actually **QQ**We the People**QQ** who are the highest authority under God in America, and not the president nor the congress.

I believe Romans 13 actually applies to the elected officials, who should obey the will of the American people.
