=========================================================== Ms. Susanne L. Bain:  Homeschool Conference Speaker and Workshop Leader

Balancing the Sword is a comprehensive study package that incorporates thousands of questions, tens of thousands of cross references, over a thousand illustrations, and over a thousand encouraging quotes, web support, and a flexible software for designing your reading schedule.

The backbone of the Balancing the Sword curriculum follows a Q&A format.  Thought provoking questions engage you which increases understanding, retention, and interest.  Different than study guides which ask the reader how he or she feels about a passage, the questions and fill-in-the-blank sentences of Balancing the Sword are all objective in nature.  Balancing the Sword helps you frame-up what the passage actually says leaving the interpretation to the Holy Spirit, you, and your spiritual leader:  pastor, husband, teacher, parents, elder, or bishop.

Each book is a Smythe-sewn, hardback with over 600 pages, over 3500 question, almost 27,000 cross references, over 500 images, and over 500 quotes.  They robust books are designed to be used on a daily basis and to last for decades to come.

Nancy S. Buck, Ph.D. completed her doctoral studies in developmental psychology with a specialization in parenting. She has created Peaceful Parenting® applying choice theory to parenting. This represents not only her twenty years of studying and teaching choice theory around the country but also her twenty years of parenting her identical twin sons. Nancy's genuine, warm and authentic teaching style is clear and concise, helping learners move from the theoretical to the practical. Because the theory is clearly and continuously explained and referred to, learners not only understand HOW to parent more effectively, they also understand WHY moving from external control parenting to internal control parenting is more effective.

Nancy is well recognized and applauded for her down to earth, human, charismatic and humorous style of working with audiences of any size. With the information and support provided by Nancy, parents can improve their ability to parent. This results in an improved quality of life for every member of a family.

Attachment Parenting International

The simple truth is that when we strengthen families, we nurture and fulfill our children's need for trust, respect, and affection, and ultimately provide a lifelong foundation for healthy, enduring relationships.

API promotes parenting practices that create strong, healthy emotional bonds between children and their parents. For life. So they can take those bonds with them into their adult lives and share them with their children. And their children can do the same. A life cycle of compassion and connection.

Through education, support, advocacy and research, our principal goal is to heighten global awareness of the profound significance of secure attachment - not only to invest in our children's bright futures, but to reduce and ultimately prevent emotional and physical mistreatment of children, addiction, crime, behavioral disorders, mental illness, and other outcomes of early unhealthy attachment.

The Faces of API
Attachment Parenting International (API) is a 501c3 non-profit organization supported by memberships, donations and volunteers. API accomplishes a great deal with efficiency - incurring only minimal expenses by employing a small staff, engaging a large devoted volunteer base and managing the organization in a virtual office environment. This organizational model enables API to have nationwide impact while getting the most out of every dollar.

Who We Are

The Krishnamurti Foundation of America is located in Ojai, California. It was founded in 1969 by Jiddu Krishnamurti, who lived from 1895 to 1986, and is regarded as one of the greatest philosophical and spiritual figures of the twentieth century. There are also Krishnamurti foundations in England (Krishnamurti Foundation Trust); India (Krishnamurti Foundation India); Canada (Krishnamurti Educational Centre); and Spain (the Fundacion Krishnamurti Latinoamericana).

Krishnamurti claimed allegiance to no caste, nationality or religion and was bound by no tradition. For nearly sixty years he traveled the world and spoke spontaneously to large audiences until the end of his life in 1986 at the age of ninety. In his talks, he pointed out to people the need to transform themselves through self knowledge, by being aware of the subtleties of their thoughts and feelings in daily life, and how this movement can be observed through the mirror of relationship. Krishnamurti was also passionately interested in education, and founded nine schools, one each in America and England, and seven in India.

Krishnamurti’s lifetime body of work spans more than 60 years. The mission of the KFA is to preserve and disseminate his teachings, which it does through a variety of different programs. These include the operation of a publishing division (books, CDs, DVDs, audio/video tapes, and increasingly downloadable text, audio and video), the operation of Oak Grove School (pre-K through 12) in Ojai, California, residential seminars exploring topics in the teachings through interpersonal dialogues, and the opportunity to use the KFA’s retreat and library facility for contemplation and study.

The Krishnamurti Foundation of America (KFA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax ID 23-7018406. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.

================================================================= is a project from the Montessori Administrators Association (MAA) with a goal of providing accurate and relevant information about the Montessori method of education to parents around the world.

MAA is a registered 501c3 non profit corporation comprised of Montessori administrators from across the United States. Its mission is to support the administration of Montessori schools by providing opportunities for renewal, networking, continuing education, and the exchange of ideas and experiences; to address the staffing needs of Montessori schools by supporting AMI Training Centers, Teacher Trainers and Trainers-in-training, as well as recruiting candidates for teacher-training; and to work in partnership with AMI and the AMI training centers to promote children’s issues and a greater understanding of the Montessori approach to education as an “aid to life.”

Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed.

HSLDA advocates on the legal front on behalf of our members in matters which include conflicts with state or local officials over homeschooling. Each year, thousands of member families receive legal consultation by letter and phone, hundreds more are represented through negotiations with local officials, and dozens are represented in court proceedings. HSLDA also takes the offensive, filing actions to protect members against government intrusion and to establish legal precedent. On occasion, HSLDA will handle precedent-setting cases for nonmembers, as well.

HSLDA advocates on Capitol Hill by tracking federal legislation that affects homeschooling and parental rights. HSLDA works to defeat or amend harmful bills, but also works proactively, introducing legislation to protect and preserve family freedoms.

HSLDA advocates in state legislatures, at the invitation of state homeschool organizations, by assisting individual states in drafting language to improve their homeschool legal environment and to fight harmful legislation.

HSLDA advocates in the media by presenting articulate and knowledgeable spokesmen to the press on the subject of homeschooling. HSLDA staff members are regularly called upon for radio, television, and print interviews, and their writings are frequently published in newspapers and magazines across the country. HSLDA’s own bimonthly magazine, The Home School Court Report, provides news and commentary on a host of current issues affecting homeschoolers. And its two-minute daily radio broadcast, Home School Heartbeat, can be heard on nearly 500 radio stations.

HSLDA advocates for the movement by commissioning and presenting quality research on the progress of homeschooling. Whether it’s in print, from the podium, or on the air, HSLDA provides insightful vision and leadership for the cause of homeschooling.

Home School Legal Defense Association . . . tens of thousands of American families working through more than 50 dedicated staff members to preserve each other’s right to homeschool . . . together, “Advocates for Family & Freedom.”
