RF Gear 2 Go Background

RF Gear 2 Go is the radio and satellite communication division of Cybergear, Inc., which was founded in Arizona in June of 1998.  Several years later, Craig (N7LB) and Danette Carnahan (W7WBE) founded RF Gear 2 Go as a small communications division of Cybergear - geared toward mobile and emergency communication products.  They don't claim to be the largest dealer of radio or satellite communication products, but they do understand how difficult it can be for some folks to get started and sort through all of the confusing product information, questionable online reviews, range or distance statements, and product comparisons. 

They add products to their portfolio when they see a real consumer value, which includes the ability to support the customer after the sale.  Having access to Cybergear's 1.3 million products also allows them to select various third-party products (like solar panels, rack mount boxes, commercial towers, etc.) to customize a unique solution to solve the customer's particular communication challenge.

Custom Radio Programming Services

Many customers find the hardest part in purchasing a new radio is getting it programmed for their local area.  RF Gear 2 Go offers programming services on many of the two-way radios they sell (so you don't have to spend hours entering frequencies, CTCSS or PL tones, DCS information, frequency off-sets, etc.).  Be sure to ask them how they can customize your new radio and eliminate hours of work for you, even adding your name or callsign to the radio's LCD (when that option is available).?

Paying It Forward

Many folks remember the tragic loss of the Prescott, AZ based "Granite Mountain Hotshot" crew of 19 Wildland Firefighters just a few years ago.  What generally is not as well known is how poorly equipped (communication wise) those crews were.  Not a single crew member had a satellite phone, a GPS tracker, or even a GPS emergency beacon, which might have helped saved their lives that terrible day.   A simple, low cost satellite phone, GPS tracker, or a GPS emergency beacon would have given authorities the Granite Mountain Hotshot's precise location within seconds.  

RF Gear 2 Go decided right then to donate a portion of every programmed radio and satellite phone sold to the Idaho based "Wildland Firefighter Fund".  It's hoped that those efforts will help (in some small way) to make a difference to their families.

Our Radio Geeks

Both Craig (N7LB), and his wife Danette (W7WBE) hold their FCC Extra Class Amateur Radio licenses and have been involved with radio communications for more than 35 years. They currently have a sales office located near Power Road and Baseline in Mesa, AZ, but are also working to open a second location in Show Low, AZ.

Craig has written several articles for various prepper related blogs, been published in a national survivor magazine, and has given numerous on-stage presentations related to choosing the right communications gear to prepper groups (both large and small) all over the southwest.

Years of radio programming have allowed him to discover the various pro's and con's of many radio manufacturer's "rf gear", so it seemed natural to expand his radio programming talents to start offering the radio hardware for sale as well, especially when so many radio dealers don't even bother to attend local events anymore. Most weekends find him (and Danette) on the road to various gun shows, hamfests, outdoor events, or prepper shows, helping folks get prepared with the right off-grid capable radio communications gear.

The Arizona Breakfast Club

The Arizona Breakfast Club first came together, in 1969, founded by Harry Everingham. Harry had been a conservative activist since World War II, publishing the American Patriot and leading We The People, a national organization.

Harry came to Arizona from Chicago, and had been discussing the issues of the 1968 election campaign with friends over coffee. The discussions were good, and a decision was made to create a club for political discourse. The Arizona Breakfast Club opened its first public meeting in January of 1970 to fight for freedom in a patriotic forum where our faith in God, our constitutional republic, and productive economy would be championed. The club was to rally conservatives and to educate people about the state of the nation and their American Heritage of liberty.

Senator Barry Goldwater, Arizona's Statesman, and often one of our guests at the podium, best outlined our desires for good government when he said: "I have little interest for streamlining government or making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' interests, I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and in that cause I am doing the very best I can."
