I'm of two minds on this. We need to be defending our constitution (check out the battle of athens, TN on Google) and I think some folks know how to do that, but formalizing to a security force is a very different matter. Our history shows that the things we do for the best of reasons (national security is in the mind of whoever's running the show) could be turned into things like the SS depending on who's in power, even at the state level. This had better have checks and balances big time!!!
