Hmmm, amorphous and ambiguous language that would give the Executive Branch more powers...Where have we heard that before. LOL

I do not worry too much about this bill.  First, I doubt it would even pass.  The Senate, being a bunch of elitist old men who have no clue about how the real world works, may indeed pass this bill, but I highly doubt the House would pass it.  Representatives are much more aware of their constituencies, and would regard support of this foolishness as politically suicidal.

But even if it did pass, it could only be used in two ways: a complete shutdown of the internet, or a partial shut down of certain servers or websites.  The first action is highly improbable as it would destroy the entire American economy, based so much as we are now on the web.  No parasite would ever deliberately kill its host.  More likely would be an attempted shut down of certain sites.  However, the  libertarian and anachist political  bent of the Web, coupled with the anonimity of users, and the extremely poor cybersecurity of the government's own systems would invite a massive counter attack from hundreds if not thousands of irate Web users. It would be interesting to see the pols try such a stupid government trick though.
