Geithner's AIG E-Mails, Phone Logs Subpoenaed by House Panel

• AP
Congress on Wednesday released details of the subpoena it served on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, seeking "all documents" relating to payments that American International Group Inc., made to other financial institutions from federal bailout funds.

The subpoena from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform also wants documents dealing with the decision to compensate AIG's counterparties at 100 cents on the dollar, as well as public disclosure of the counterparty payments.

The payments went to some of the world's largest financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Morgan Stanley, Barclays PLC, Bank of America Corp., Deutsche Bank AG and Societe Generale SA.
