America's first in vitro baby

She was the most famous baby in America after her birth in 1981 following in vitro fertilization. Yesterday, Elizabeth Comeau gave birth to a baby of her own, Trevor. Here's a look at Comeau's early life as the nation's first test-tube baby.
On Dec. 28, 1981, America's First in vitro or "test-tube baby" Elizabeth Jordan Carr (now Comeau) was born to Roger and Judith Carr in Norfolk, Va.

Carr, who grew up in Westminster, Mass., is now 28 and works at The Boston Globe.
