On 9/11 I was actually a lot closer to the terror than I truly want to think about.
In the skies above me as I was heading out to work as a traveling salesman in New Stanton, PA to head west on Route 30 in PA, going through Greensburg and then to points west to call on customers, I didn't know there was a struggle going on.
I ended up having to go back to my hotel for something I forgot, and I got back in time to see the news report on the TV that I had left on when I came in the door.
I saw the talk of the tragedy of the first plane strike. At that time, of course, we didn't know that it was a deliberate act of war.
