The article "As Poverty Spreads, Crime Will Not Be Far Behind", is well written, informative and timely.  It is a very good assessment as to what we as a Nation are facing in the immediate future, unfortunately, I fear that we do not have the morality that we as a Nation once had nor the true philanthropic desire to help each other as a true moral society we once were endowed with.

If we as a supposed Christian Nation were to read the first five books of the Old Testament and discover what God says concerning USURY and then turn to the books of the Law (Leviticus and Deuteronomy) and see what laws were laid down concerning the treatment of The Children of Israel concerning their brethren as opposed to the way they were to treat STRANGERS in their land, perhaps we would begin to understand.  As far as usury, we as a Nation thrive on it.  Unfortunately we receive a pittance while those who truly know how to work the system reap untold wealth from it.  Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed" would have been a step in the right direction as well as an Audit of the Gold in Fort Knox.

I feel quite certain that a great many understand the problems facing us, unfortunately, the understanding does not necessarily lead to an easy solution.  The Lord Jesus Christ and his Apostles it seems to me, supplied the solution to the problem but the cost was dear and we have to ask ourselves is it worth the price?  What would we be willing to give for our posterity?  What would we be willing to give for a stranger?  Are we going to continue to be materially minded, or are we going to be self sufficient as much as we possibly can be and teach our children to do the same?  Returning to the Victory Gardens of the past, using the State CAFRs to form State Banks to compete with the Federal Reserve, States initiating a system of wealth based on a barter system of land and property, forming good relations with family and friends, returning to the family homesteads, and finally once again returning ourselves to a position of true morality and trusting someone higher than ourselves that it spreads throughout communities.
